Mrs. Audrey Vaden Whitaker

Mrs.  Audrey Vaden Whitaker, age 81 of Lebanon, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010, at the Pavilion.  She was born November 23, 1928, in Davidson County, TN, the daughter of the late William Turner Vaden and Johnnie Lynch Vaden.  She retired from Hartmann Luggage and was a Baptist in belief.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe M. Whitaker; granddaughter, Dana Smith Sims; brothers:  Buford and Eugene Vaden; and sisters:  Irene Stubblefield and Guila Byers.

Survived by two children:  Bill (Janice) Whitaker and Shirley A. Henry both of Lebanon; sister, Jewell Wilson of Smyrna; two grandsons:  Jason (Jennifer) Johnston of New York, NY and Jeramye (Amy) Whitaker of Paris; six great-grandchildren. 

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, September 9, 2010, at 11 a.m. from the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Wednesday 4-8 p.m.and Thursday 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.

The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Alive Hospice or the Pavilion (Activities Fund).
